The Angus Cardiac Group has branches in Arbroath, Forfar and Montrose. Each branch has a programme of meetings and events where members get together. The programme includes invited speakers, outings and fund raising events. Members can attend at any of the venues. Long-term Exercise for People with Coronary Heart Disease Cardiac Rehabilitation programmes have been a feature of cardiac rehabilitation services provided by NHS Tayside for some years. However, these only lasted for a maximum of 12 weeks. Long-term exercise had not been available for people in Angus with coronary heart disease. Angus Cardiac Group, in partnership with NHS Tayside and Angus Council Leisure Services, helped to set this up in 2004. Application form available to download here Chair-based Exercise Classes are held as follows: A pilot programme offering seated exercise classes for those persons with a long-term condition who are not able to attend circuit or gym-based classes is now available at all of the Angus burghs and at Stracathro Hospital. BRECHIN - Brechin Leisure Centre- Every
Thursday - 1400. FORFAR - Lochside Leisure Centre – Every Monday – 1100 & every Friday – 1130 MONTROSE – Montrose Sports Centre - Every Tuesday – 1230 & every Friday - 1700 KIRRIEMUIR - Webster's Sports Centre - Every Tuesday - 1430 Refreshments are offered after each class In addition, a supervised gym-based class is held at FORFAR on a Wednesday at 1130. There may be the opportunity to access the gym on an individual basis at other leisure centres following induction by a qualified exercise instructor.
